Zonia L. Miller

Zonia L. Miller, age 92, of Alliance, passed away on September 14, 2021.

She was born on January 11, 1929 in Alliance to Michael Ludwig and Gertrude (Barnett) Ludwig.

Zonia graduated from Alliance High School and the Alliance City Hospital School of Nursing. She spent her life as a caregiver, first for her mother and later for her husband.

She worked as Emergency Room Supervisor for more than twenty  years at Alliance City Hospital, before becoming Head Industrial Nurse at Transue and Williams Forging Plant for several years, finishing her career as Director of Nursing at Manor Care.

Zonia was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and a widowed member of BPO Elks 467.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Drew (Faith) Miller and Brook Miller; grandson, Campbell (Miranda) Miller; and son-in-law, John Verga.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Miller, whom she married June 11, 1950, and her daughter, Tanya Verga.

A memorial service will be held at on Saturday, October 30th at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church (3295 S Union Ave, Alliance, Ohio) at 2:00 p.m. with a visitation one hour prior.
