Roger Summers

Roger Summers, age 86, of Alliance passed away at Akron City Hospital on January 29, 2021.

He was born on October 30, 1934 in North Georgetown to Hazen and Pearl (Zyrd) Summers.

A 1953 graduate of Alliance High School, Roger worked for many years as a mechanical engineer for Morgan Engineering and Bridgestone/Firestone and was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church.

Those left to cherish his memory are children, Cindy Case, Brenda (Lyndin) Merrick, Linda (Robert) Stevens and Steve (Catherine) Summers; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Janet; three brothers and two sisters.

Services will be held February 12 at noon at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home and live streamed on our website with Rev. Kyle Gould officiating.  Friends may call one hour prior to the service.  Private interment will be at Marlboro Cemetery.
