Mildred L. Parks

January 5, 1923 — December 20, 2020

Mildred (Lowry) Parks, age 97, formerly of Alliance, passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2020 at Highland Park Nursing Home in Houston, Texas.  Milli was born on January 5, 1923 in Alliance, Ohio to Frank Earl and Sylvia (Hilton) Lowry.  She was a 1940 graduate of Alliance High School and worked for McCaskey Register for 10 years and later for the Northeast Conference of United Methodist Church as a secretary until her retirement in 1989.  Milli was a member of Christ United Methodist Church for over 50 years. She was also a member of Alliance Music Study Club, Evergreen Garden Club and volunteered at The Red Cross. She enjoyed gardening, bridge and volunteering.

Milli is survived by her daughter-in law, Brenda (Devers) Parks; grandson, William Parks; granddaughter, Kristen Parks, all of Houston; and her sister, Jeanne (Lowry) Kelly of Dublin, Ohio (formerly of Alliance).  She was preceded in death by her husband, William Gerald Parks in 1977, her son William Gerald “Gerry” Parks II in 2017; and three sisters, Pauline Lowry (1924), Honor Lowry (2001), and Irene Lowry Chance (2008).

Milli will be remembered for her vibrant personality, her wit, her style, her beautiful smile, hearty laugh and generous spirit.  There is no question that the light of her life was her son, Gerry.  But all the other children in her life were incredibly special to her, as well.  She shared her interest, her humor, and her love with her grandchildren, Will and Kristen; and three generations of nieces and nephews.  Her memory will be cherished by all.

A celebration of life will be held at a date yet to be determined when circumstances will allow the gathering of all her family and friends to remember her with love and gratitude.

Arrangements are entrusted to Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home 75 South Union Ave Alliance, Ohio 44601. Friends and family may share condolences and memories online at www.ctcfuneral.com.
