Mary Imogene Blake

Mary Imogene (Jean) Blake, age 92, of Alliance, passed away on May 18, 2021.

She was born on February 12, 1929 in Woodruff, WV to Arthur Earnest and Edith (McNeely) Earnest.

Jean was an active member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and had served on Administrative Council, Prayer Coordinator, Evangelism Chairperson, Education Commission, and Upper Room Prayer Ministry.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Robert L. Blake, whom she married on August 27, 1949; her children, Anne (Loyid) McHam, Larry (Linda) Blake, Michael (Jeanette) Blake, Lisa (Rod) Hazen, Darlene (Jerry) Baum, 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren;  siblings, Evelyn Bissett, Doris Moore, Sarah Moore, Carolyn Drizake, Freda West, David Earnest and Linda Kinsey.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Margaret Gosney and Arnold Earnest; and grandson, Brian Blake.

There will be a visitation at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home on Friday, May 21st from 6:00-8:00 p.m.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 22 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Kenneth Price officiating and a visitation one hour prior at the church.
