Marilyn J. Felger, a devoted and caring, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away on November 11, 2020 at age 86.

She was born to Donald and Lois (Sarbach) Bixler on May 17, 1934 in Malvern, Ohio. Marilyn was the second of nine children. She graduated from Minerva High School in 1952 and Married her beloved husband Burleigh (1932-2018) on August 13, 1955. Marilyn and Burleigh were the owners of Felger Construction where she served as bookkeeper for the family business.

Marilyn was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and the Alliance Senior Center.

She enjoyed traveling with her husband throughout the United States including Alaska, Hawaii and New York City on many of their 62 wedding anniversaries.

She enjoyed watching her son play sports and used her bookkeeping skills for scorekeeping at his baseball games for several years. She was a member of the Aviator Sports Boosters and a founding member of the Aviator Mother’s Club.

She was a talented seamstress sewing dance costumes and dresses for her daughter as well as draperies to fulfill her love of interior decorating. She had a true green thumb for house plants and loved to garden planting beautiful flowers and perennials. Her hobbies also included cooking, crafts, reading books and talking on the phone with her siblings. She was a meticulous person who believed in a clean, neat and organized surrounding.

Marilyn was a joyous loving person who always put others first. She loved spending time laughing with family and friends especially the “Malvern Girls” and her Minerva High School girlfriends.

Her love of the performing arts was an inspiration to her grandchildren, Paige an actor and Luke a musician. She was thrilled to attend Paige’s musicals and concerts at Alliance High School as well as watch her be a part of the Carnation Queen Court. Marilyn was also able to visit Paige in New York City while a student at NYU. She was fortunate to see Luke perform at Mount Union College with the Akron Youth Symphony as well as local marching band performances and many videos from his Cleveland area performances.
