John Mitchell George, 67, of Marlboro Twp. passed away Friday, May 12, 2023 in his home. He was born March 2, 1956 in Canton, Ohio to Robert Lee and Elizabeth Maurine (Small) George.

John was a 1974 graduate of Marlington High School and received his associate’s degree in Livestock Production and Management from Ohio State ATI. Following college he worked in Bryant, Ohio as the Manager of the Swine Farrowing Co-op, OMIO. He returned home to Marlboro in 1981 taking over the family farm, and establishing a Moor-Mans Feed dealership. He was a lifelong Farmer and worked midnights at Buckeye Packaging for 37 years as an Extruder Operator and then Supervisor. John enjoyed camping, auctions, tractor pulls, county fairs and had a sweet tooth for Mountain Dew. He loved all animals, particularly his farm dogs. His greatest joy was being with his family. He is deeply loved and greatly missed by his wife, Betty Lou (Montgomery), his childhood neighbor and sweetheart, whom he married August 16, 1986, his two sons, Tyler Mitchell (Mikayla) George, Adam Christopher (Emma) George, and grandson, Ezra Dale George, all of Marlboro; five older siblings, Ruth (Ron) Hellyer of Minerva, Bonnie (Jim) Gallagher of Canton, Robert "Bud" (Nittaya) George of Colorado Springs, Jim (Verona) George of Louisville, and Kathy Basile of Akron; his mother-in-law, Marilyn L.
