James F. Ramser

July 27, 1937 — April 8, 2023

James F. Ramser, age 85, passed away suddenly, ‘without our permission’ on Saturday, April 8, 2023.

He was born on July 27, 1937, in Alliance, to the late Russell Ramser, Sr. and Lillian (Harris) Ramser and lived in Alliance all of his life.

He graduated from Alliance High School, class of 1955 and attended the University of Mount Union, Kent State University and graduated from the Automation Institute of Akron where he received his diploma in data processing.

Jim was honorably discharged from the United States Navy, serving two years aboard the aircraft carrier, USS Randolph CVA-15.

A lifetime member of the First Christian Church, Jim was employed for 35 years as the data processing manager/systems analysis at American Steel Foundries and retired in 1997

He was a lifetime member of the Conrad Masonic Lodge and the B.P.O. Elks Lodge #467.

Jim loved boating and golfing with his friends and playing softball until he was 48.  He also was a dedicated Cleveland sports fan.

Jim would like to thank his loving family for staying so close throughout the years and would also like to thank the city of Alliance for providing a fine community to raise his children.  A special thank you to his fiancée, Pamela Richardson, for being such a wonderful, loving lady in his later years.

Those left to cherish his memory are his two brothers and sister, Russell (Levern) Ramser, David (Carol) Ramser and Cynthia (Steve) Ramser-Foster; daughter, Tiffany (Thad) Stanley; grandchildren, Tim Ramser, Grant Ramser and Brent Ramser; and daughter-in-law Jill Ramser.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jerika Ramser; sons, Timothy Ramser and Jeff Ramser; and brother, Robert Ramser.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 14th from 10am – Noon at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home.   An Elks service will begin at Noon on Friday followed by a funeral service officiated by Sue Dehoff. Jim will be laid to rest at Alliance City Cemetery with military honors.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to First Christian Church 1141 W Beech St., Alliance, OH 44601.
