Gerald Ray Hoover

Gerald Ray Hoover, age 68, of Alliance passed away on April 12, 2021.

He was born on February 12, 1953 in Alliance to Donald H. and Donna (Emery) Hoover.

Gerald graduated from Marlington High School in 1971 and Kent State University in 1975. He was employed as a lab technician for The University of Mount Union and was formerly employed by Babcock and Wilcox Research until 1997. Gerald attended Alliance Friends Church. He enjoyed working in the machine shop, farming and the outdoors. Gerald loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was devoted to his students.

Those left to cherish his memory are his mother; his wife, Suzette (Barnard) Hoover; his children, Andrew (Deborah) Hoover of Acworth, GA, Kathrine (Erik) Kraus of Alliance and Benjamin (Jessica) Hoover of North Canton; six grandchildren, Miles, Isabella, Ellena, Emily, and Natalie Hoover,  and Elena Kraus; siblings, Larry (Bonnie) Hoover of Johnson City, TN, Ronald (Sherry) Hoover of Litchfield, OH and Carol (Stephen) Hornbrook of Dunlap, IL; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father.

A funeral service will be held at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home on Monday, April 19th at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Russ Gumm officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, April 18th from 7-9 p.m.
