George Bruce Boyle

George “Bruce” Boyle, age 80, of Canton, passed away at home on March 2, 2023 after a two month illness.

He was born on May 2, 1942, in Alliance, to father, Vernon Boyle and mother, Ruth (Wagner) Boyle.

Growing up, Bruce attended Beloit Elementary and graduated from Sebring McKinley High School in 1960. After he graduated, he served four years in the United States Navy as a Machinists Mate 2nd class aboard the USS Radford DD/DDE 446, a Fletcher-class destroyer. In 1964, he returned to Beloit and in 1966 he married Judi (Bayless).

After a 40 year career as a heating and air conditioning specialist he retired from Rex Reliable/Crown Group in 2007. He also taught HVAC at Stark State and for Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES) for many years.

Bruce was a lifelong learner and never stopped working or exploring. In retirement his favorite activities were family get togethers, Navy Reunions, and his annual three month trip to Florida.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 56 years, Judi; his son, Doug (Billi) Boyle; daughter, Susan (Ben) Herendeen; a brother, James (Linda) Boyle; cousins, Carol Ringer and Ron Wagner; grandchildren, Sam Boyle, Sarah Boyle, Cassidy Herendeen and Luke Herendeen; and many loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of life will be held at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home on Monday, March 6th at 2:00 p.m. with a visitation two hours prior. Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
