Elaine E. (Bush) Cottrill

Elaine E. Cottrill, age 85, of Alliance, passed away at 4:05 p.m., Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at Aultman Hospital.

She was born March 6, 1934, in Clarksburg, West Virginia to Ray and Elsie (Doyle) Bush.

Elaine was a 1968 graduate of Waterloo High School. She drove school bus for Atwater Schools in the late 1960’s and was a TOPS coordinator for many years.

She attended The Chapel in Marlboro, served as chairman of elections in Portage County and coordinated the Variety Shows for the Atwater PTA. She also volunteered for the Diabetes Clinic, teaching others how to care for themselves and was a member of Order of Eastern Star for more than 60 years.

Survivors include her husband, James Robert Cottrill whom she married August 28, 1950; daughter, Cathy Lowe of Alliance and Kenneth (Teri) Cottrill of Atwater; grandchildren, Robin (Joe Brock) Cottrill, Jimmy Cottrill, Kendra (Cory) Levis, Cory Cottrill, Niki Long, Kati Foster and Michelle Foster; many great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews.

She will be missed by many friends gained through TOPS who were like her family.

In addition to her parents, Elaine was preceded in death by her son, Robert Lee Cottrill who died in 1980 and grandson, Robert Lee Cottrill II who died July 2019.

Services will be held at Noon Monday, September 23, 2019, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Freddie Rodriguez officiating. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to Noon prior to the service. Interment will be at Atwater Cemetery.
