Derik Deprill

Derik Deprill, age 42 of Alliance, passed away on June 3, 2021 at his home.  He was born in Alliance on March 5th, 1979 to Deborah Deprill and Dazzle Hawkins III.

He graduated from Marlington High School in 1998.  Derik participated in MHS Wrestling, Hot Stove Baseball and the Alliance Ulster Project.

He is survived by the love of his life, his soulmate, his Rock, Demetria Gattis; sons, Dayshawn and Daymion Deprill; sisters, Kisha Deprill of Canton, Heather (Dan) Helphinstine of Canton, Kelsey (Brian) Markle of Warren; step-sister, Shelina Hawkins; brother, Dion (Rusty) Deprill of Marietta, GA, Nick Deprill, Jake (Brittany) Deprill of Homeworth; father, Dazzle (Vivian) Hawkins III; mother-in-law, Carmen Gattis; Special Aunt, Theresa Deprill whom raised him after the death of his mother.  He was a mentor to many nieces and nephews.  He loved his three dogs, Titan, December and Major.

He is proceeded in death by his mother, Deborah Rae Deprill; son, Drayden Raymond Deprill; uncle, Keith Deprill, brother, Dazzle Hawkins IV; grandmother, Catherine Osley.

He worked at West Rock in Ravenna as a machine operator.  He enjoyed fishing, watching the Cleveland Browns, and spending time with his large family and also eating Grandma Dora Board cooking.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the NAMI Mental Heath Research.

A visitation will be held at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 8th from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
