Amir Stephan Albert

August 28, 1998 — May 5, 2020

Amir Stephan Albert, age 21, passed away on Tuesday May 5, 2020 at 5:20 p.m., at Aultman Hospital in Canton, Ohio.

He was born on August 28, 1998 at Alliance Community Hospital, to Elisabeth Marie Albert.  He attended school in Alliance until age 9, after which he was then raised by his grandparents, Steve and Becky Albert.  He attended middle and high school in Perry Township graduating from Perry High School.  He was a member of the high school marching band, where he competed and earned 1st seat on “baritone” throughout his time there.  He even did a bit of composing.

Amir dreamed “big” as a little boy, early becoming enterprising, finding creative ways toward making his dreams come true.  He worked various jobs before securing his most current position as laborer in the Engineer Department of the Wheeling and Lake Erie Railway Company in Brewster, Ohio where he was highly respected.

All who knew Amir, friends and family and acquaintances would agree that he was kind, loving, thoughtful, helpful and had a million$$$ smile.  A hug from him was always welcome and always offered freely.

His present home was in Canton, Ohio with his longtime friend Justus Downard and his parents Don and Terry Funk.  He would attend church with them at Woodlawn Church on Woodlawn Ave N.W. in Canton.

Amir enjoyed fishing, hill climbing with his jeeps, and spending time riding his motorcycle for fun.  It was a beautiful spring day when he set out for such a ride not knowing it would be his last one.

Those who are now grieving his loss include; mother, Elisabeth Albert of Alliance; brother, Jebrell Andrews, of Perry; Grandparents, Steve and Becky Albert of Canton, and Patty and Mike Downs of Damascus; 11 aunts and uncles, Eddie (Angie) Albert of Alliance, Stephanie (John) Derry of Damascus, Troy (Laura) Grubb of Alliance, Rebekah Albert of Damascus, Josh Brown of Canton, Jeff (Heather) Brown of Silver Lake, and Jake Brown of Stow; 18 cousins, United States Marine Nick (Raeann)(Baby Mia) Niner stationed in North Carolina,  Ethan, Roman, and Sydney Albert of Alliance, Payton, Paige, Parker, Payslie Derry and Aijon Albert of Damascus, Tyler and Grace Grubb of Alliance and US Marine Shawn Grubb stationed in Japan, Malyah, Gary Moore, Myrah, Gage Garrison of Damascus, Adam, and Nicolas Brown of Silver Lake; along with so many more family and friends that will be grieving the loss of Amir.
