Alverna J Smith

Alverna J. Smith, age 94, of Alliance, passed away at 4:50 a.m. Saturday, August 6, 2022 at Altercare of Hartville.

Alverna was born August 3, 1928 in East Canton, to Chester A. Smith and Blanche M. (VanHorn) Smith.

A graduate of Marlboro High School, Alverna worked as an office clerk for Hoover Company for over 39 years.

She was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church.

She will be loved and missed by her family, including her daughter, Jennifer Tidd; granddaughter, Deanna Marie Tidd; her sister, Mary E. Kreger; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Joe R. Smith.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday August 10, 2022 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Theresa Carter-- officiating. Friends may call from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday prior to the service.

Interment will be at Marlboro Cemetery.
