Yong Ye Mathers

Yong Ye (Choe) Mathers, age 79, went home to be with the Lord and to rest in the loving arms of Jesus on Friday, November 1, 2024. 

She was born on December 5, 1944, in South Korea and moved to the United States with her husband in 1966.

A member of the Canton Korean United Methodist Church, Yong was a very loving and faithful wife and a generous person to her community.

Those left to cherish her memory are her church community, neighbors and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, William Mathers, whom she married on February 11, 1965 and who passed away December 10, 2012.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Friends may pay their respects one hour prior to the service.

Yong will be laid to rest with her husband at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date.
