William “Bill” Reed, 71, of Louisville, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his home on August 7, 2026. He was welcomed into this world at home on a snowy New Year’s Day, 1955.

Bill’s greatest joy in life was his family. There was nothing more important to him than the people he loved, and his family knew without a doubt how deeply they were loved in return. He was a devoted father to Brian (Katie) Reed, Rachel (Chris) Coast, and Brandon Reed, and the best Papa that Silver, Remy, Jackson, Canon, Campbell, and Monroe could have asked for. His grandchildren brought him an immeasurable amount of happiness, and some of his most treasured moments were spent surrounded by them. He was also a beloved brother and uncle to his many siblings, nieces, and nephews.

Baseball was a lifelong passion for Bill. He spent years coaching before returning to play the game himself later in life. Whether on the mound, in the dugout, or cheering from the stands, he found joy in the sport at every stage of his life. Just as he passed on his love of the game, he passed on his competitiveness, determination, and work ethic to all who knew him.

A devoted fan of all Cleveland sports teams, Bill cheered through every high and the many, many lows with the Browns, Guardians, and Cavaliers, and never missed a chance to talk about the next season with anyone who would listen.

Above all, Bill was known for his infectious smile and warmth, and for a stubbornness that always managed to be more funny than frustrating. He was always a source of positive energy, a caring and thoughtful man who made a point of staying in touch with everyone he loved, and anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him came away better for it.

Bill leaves behind his beloved children, grandchildren, siblings, extended family, and countless friends who will forever cherish his memory.

A funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart of Mary Church on Thursday, August 20th at 11:00 a.m.
