William Mathers

William Eugene Mathers, age 67, of Alliance, died at 10 a.m. December 10, 2012 at Aultman Hospital.
He was born January 29, 1945, in East Liverpool, Ohio to John L. and Goldie M. (Marshall) Mathers. A graduate of East Liverpool High School, William was employed by the former Alliance Machine Company as a machinist until retirement.
William was a member of the Canton Korean United Methodist Church, VFW Post 1036 and American Legion Post 166 of Alliance. William was also an avid reader.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1962 to 1965.
Surviving is his wife, Yong Ye (Choe) Mathers whom he married February 11, 1965.
William was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home, with Pastor Ji Son Lee officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
