William J. "Bill" Mikes, age 38, of Ft. Polk, Louisiana, formerly of Alliance, died Tuesday, November 15, 2011, at Alliance Community Hospital.
He was born May 14, 1973 in Alliance, Ohio to Raymond G. Mikes Jr. and Sue L. (Randolph) Mikes.
A 1992 graduate of Alliance High School, Bill was currently serving in the U. S. Army. He was posthumously promoted to PV2.
A former member of Alliance Christian Center, Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking and playing softball.
Survivors include his wife, Tammy L. (Watson) Mikes, of Ft. Polk LA; children Joseph and Katie both of Ft. Polk; mother, Sue of Alliance; father, Raymond of Alliance; brothers, Benji and Joe of Alliance, and Gary of FL; sister, Rae Ann Thomas of Alliance; grandmother, Myrtle Mikes of Alliance; several cousins, nieces and nephews; and his dog, Ginger.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2011, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Dykshoorn officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday. Interment, with military honors, will be at Alliance City Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alliance Christian Center, 670 W. Main St. Alliance, OH 44601.
