Wilda Jean (Williams) Bandy, age 95, formerly of Alliance, passed quietly in her sleep surrounded by the love of her family at 10:30 p.m. on October 10, 2024 at her home in Cuyahoga Falls. She will be greatly missed.
She was born February 20, 1929 in Diamond, Ohio to Harvey and Verda (Woodward) Williams.
She attended Sebring High School and married John W. Bandy on February 26, 1945. Together they raised six children while operating a successful dairy farm in Columbiana County. She was a member of Bethel United Church of Christ, the Ohio Farm Bureau and Knox Farm Women’s Club.
Mrs. Bandy throughout her lifetime found the most joy in family gatherings with plenty of home cooking, games, puzzles, and hugs. Her favorite dishes to make were meat loaf, peanut butter kiss cookies, pumpkin pie, apple cake, potato salad, Thanksgiving stuffing, bread pudding, and tropical salad.
In addition to her passion for cooking, canning, and baking, she loved butterflies, gardening, listening to Elvis, and watching westerns.
She is survived by her children, John H. (Pam) Bandy of Cuyahoga Falls; Carol J. (Dan) Conser, and Dianna L Bandy both of Beloit, Gregory I. Bandy of Alliance and Brenda M. (Tom) Magier of Munroe Falls; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John W. Bandy; daughter, Deborah M. Buchs; her sister, Thelma; and her brother, Edward.
A funeral service will be held at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home on Thursday, October 17th at 1:00 p.m. with a visitation two hours prior. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
