Violet Lorraine Barker, age 79, of Alliance, passed away January 17, 2014 at 4:55 p.m. at Alliance Community Hospital.
She was born June 7, 1934 in Salineville, Ohio to William and Elizabeth (Adams) Myers.
Violet enjoyed sewing, crossword puzzles, and watching Sci-Fi shows.
Survivors include her children, Gail Williams, Spencer (Fonda) Barker, and Henry (Amanda) Barker, all of Alliance; many grand and great-grandchildren; and siblings, Paul (Linda) Myers, of TN, Ann Williams, of WVA, and Charlene Knipp, of AZ.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack Barker, brothers, Eugene, Bill, and Roger Myers, sisters, Mabel Guess, Dora Mudrick, Pat Knipp, Mary Jane Case, sons, Terry, Roger, Jack and John Barker, daughter, Susie McMillen, grandson, Tommy; and three great-grandchildren.
Per Violet's request, no services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to Alliance Visiting Nurse Hospice Association, 885 S. Sawburg Rd. Alliance, Ohio 44601.
