Verna Mae Boyce

Verna Mae Boyce, age 98, cherished Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother, passed to our Lord after a brief illness on March 9, 2024. A strong, yet peaceful woman, she will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure to know her. 

Verna was born on April 13, 1925 to Leroy McCormick and Bonita (Palmer) McCormick Sebrell. She graduated from Alliance High School. 

Verna worked as a bookkeeper for Mount Union Bank. She was a member of Vine Street United Methodist Church, the Eastern Stars Palmy Chapter, Christian Women’s and AARP. She enjoyed crocheting. She was always there to offer guidance, support and encouragement. 

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Sharon (Bruce) Conner and Marilyn (Anthony) Boyce Rothermel; daughter-in-law, Rose Boyce; grandchildren, Laura (Brad), Michael (Tabi), Kenna, Lauren (Colin), and Alexandra; and great-grandchildren, Lydia and Caleb.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Thomas W. Boyce; son, Craig A. Boyce; and brother, Eugene McCormick.

A funeral service will be held at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home on Thursday, March 14^th at 1:00 p.m. with a visitation one hour prior. Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery.
