Timothy Richard Brown

Retired Police Captain, Timothy Richard Brown, age 74, passed away on September 9, 2026.

He was born on December 29, 1951, in Alliance, to Richard V. and Alyce E. Brown.

Tim graduated from West Branch High School and then from Kent State University with a degree in Criminal Justice. He served on the Alliance Police Department for 30 years and received Police Officer of the Year in 1988 and 1992. Tim then worked at Glenmoor Country Club in Canton for 15 years. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Police and Fire Retirees of Ohio.

Tim loved fishing, boating, and gardening. He also had a passion for restoring old tools and furniture.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Elaine Brown whom he married in 1974; daughter, Kelly Anne Brown (Greg Soper); son, Patrick Brown; siblings, Lynn Hardy, Larry Brown and Mike Brown; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved beagle, Belle.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral service will held at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home on Friday, September 18th at 2:00 p.m. with a visitation one hour prior.
