Thomas C. Papley

Thomas Papley, age 87, passed away on September 18, 2026.

He was born on May 5, 1939, in Alliance, to Thomas and Nettie Papley.

A 1957 graduate of Alliance High School Tom went on to work at the Alliance Machine Company and later as a school crossing guard for the Alliance Police Department.

He was a former member of Sleepy Hollow Country Club, Christopher Columbus, Steel Workers Local Union, and was a former secretary of Alliance Booster Club and Sleepy Hollow Country Club.

Tom loved to golf and rarely missed an Alliance High School sporting event and was a diehard LSU Tigers fan. His greatest joy was watching his grandkids sporting events.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 62 years Sarah (Reed) Papley; children, Thomas (Tina) Papley Jr. and Trisha (Todd) Blatt; grandchildren, Drue, Brayden, Cade, Ashlyn, Danielle and Kyle; and sister, Frances Grimm.

In addition to his parents Thomas is preceded in death by his daughters, Kimberly and Terri Papley; and sisters, Patricia Barnhart and Helen Pisanello

A funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 24, 2026 at First Baptist Church, 1659 W. State St., Alliance, OH 44601.
