Shirley A. Cook

Shirley A. Cook, age 94, passed away on April 14, 2026. She was born on January 18, 1932, in Salem, to Lester H. and Marie (Oborn) Baldinger.

Shirley attended Ohio State and the University of Akron. She worked as a home economics teacher at Marlington for 21 years.

Shirley was a member of the Alliance Women’s Shrine Club and The Alliance Women’s Club. She also played bridge with a group in Salem.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Laurie Ramey and granddaughter Carla; and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, William L. Welsh; her second husband, John S. Cook; her son, Tom; and daughter, Cathy.

A private family service was held.
