Shirley D Blackwell

Shirley D. Kirksey Blackwell, age 70, of Alliance, passed away at 2:46 p.m. Saturday, December 26, 2020 at Aultman Hospital.

She was born September 23, 1950 in Mobile, Alabama to Edmond and Allie (Thornton) Kirksey.

A graduate of Alliance High School, Shirley attended The University of Toledo and received her Associate’s Degree in Children’s Service from Stark State.

She was formerly employed by Stark County Children’s Service.

Shirley was a member of Second Baptist Church. She loved to cook, barbeque, and garden. She also enjoyed talking with family and friends, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her sons, Michael (Brandy) Blackwell Sr., and Brandon Blackwell Sr., both of Alliance; grandchildren, Fuquan Rogers, Allie Blackwell, Michael Blackwell Jr., Brandon Blackwell Jr., Myka Blackwell, and Eizec Blackwell.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A celebration of life will be held at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home on January 9th at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Joyce Williams officiating. Friends may call one hour prior.
