Shirley A. Betz, age 73, of Paris, passed away at her home at 10:40 p.m. Friday, October 19, 2012.
She was born January 4, 1939 in Sistersville, West Virginia to Arthur W. and Naomi (Henderson) Speece.
A 1958 graduate of Sebring McKinley High School, she worked at Community Care Center in Alliance as an LPN for fifteen years.
Shirley was a member of Alliance Evangelical Friends Church for 40 years. She enjoyed flower gardening, feeding the birds, and traveling to Florida, where she enjoyed collecting seashells on the beach.
Her gentle spirit will be missed by her family, including her husband, Warren A. Betz, whom she married March 31, 1962, children, Eunice A. (Paul) Castellucci, Bruce A. (Cathy) Betz, Warren A. (JR) Betz Jr., and Colleen A. (Fred) Wafler; seven grandchildren, Thomas, Andrew, Bryan, Lindsey, Kristin, Jerry and Haley; two step-grandchildren, Chad and Amanda; father, Arthur Speece; two sisters, Linda Widla and Donna Mather, and one brother, Bill Speece.
She was preceded in death by her mother, and one sister, April.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday October 24, 2012 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Sams officiating. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
