Shawn Smith

Shawn Smith, age 60, passed away at home on December 17, 2020.

He was born on April 23, 1960 in Tampa, FL to Franklin D. Smith and Anna Ruth (Givens) Smith.

Shawn graduated from Alliance High School in 1978. After graduation he began working for the Henschen Motor Company before becoming the Autobody Instructor at Alliance High School where he instilled a strong work ethic in his students. Shawn enjoyed restoring cars, especially his 1972 Triumph TR6. He also enjoyed bicycling and spending time with family and friends. Shawn was a member of the Damascus Friends Church.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sharon (Vasbinder) Smith, whom he married on October 2, 1982; his sons, Nate (Emily) Smith and Keith Smith; his sisters, Tanny Chavez, Becky (Kenny) Avery; his brother, Shane (Tanya) Smith; sister-in-law, Debbie Downing; and brother-in-law Chris (Sherri) Vasbinder.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call at Cassaday- Turkle-Christian on Monday, December 21st from 6-8 p.m. A private family service will be held. Interment at Fairmount Memorial Park.
