Sharon Leasure

Sharon "Shay" (McNemar) Hopkins-Leasure passed away on March 23, 2026 surrounded by family.

Shay was born in Oakland, Maryland on November 29, 1946 to the late Clyde & Freda McNemar.

Shay graduated from Alliance High School and retired from American Steel Foundries in 2001. She then worked as a STNA at Alliance Community Care Center for many years.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 35 years, David E. Leasure Sr.; her son, William (Amanda) Hopkins; her granddaughter, Cortney (Dale) Reed, who she raised with her husband and was her sunshine; two sisters, Joy “Elaine” Ellsworth and Janet Stull; step-children, Bonnie (John) Reynolds and David (Jodi) Leasure Jr.; a special niece, Leesa Jones; nieces, Tracy, Tonya, and Tammie; nephew, Michael; the joys of her life, Urijah and Brennley Shay Reed; two very special great-nephews, Kamden and Jace Jones; five step-grandchildren, Dwain, Rick, and Paige Blake and Zachary and Jacob Leasure; fifteen bonus great-grandchildren; and her two great-granddogs, Clyde and Waylon Reed.

Besides her parents, Shay is preceded in death by her brother, James McNemar; sister-in-law, Patricia McNemar; brothers-in-law, Timothy Ellsworth and Terry Stull.

Shay lived her life how she wanted and attended her own celebration of life that was held on February 28, 2026 and she wanted to thank all those who attended. It truly meant the world to her.
