Sandra L. Gampo of Alliance went home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 15, 2023, at the age of 82. She passed peacefully and was surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born in Alliance on January 15, 1941, to Earl and Mary Isabelle (Myers) Seevers. She graduated from United High School in 1959 and attended the University of Mount Union and Kent State University where she studied music and education.
Over the course of her career, she worked for Caring Hands and Alliance Visiting Nurses in medical records and also served as church organist, choir director, Sunday school teacher, and lay speaker at New Franklin United Methodist Church. She also played multiple instruments, including the accordion and trombone and played music professionally throughout her lifetime in addition to teaching organ lessons. When she wasn’t serving her church or teaching music lessons, she also enjoyed taking motorcycle trips with her late husband and friends. She especially loved visiting Blackwater Falls in West Virginia.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Gampo; her daughter, Connie Glauner; two brothers; and one sister.
Those left to cherish her memory include a son, George (Anne) Glauner; two daughters, Jennifer (Dan) Yoder and Christina (Brad) Wallace; five grandchildren; her sister, Carol (John) Augustein; and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at New Franklin United Methodist Church, 16540 Lisbon St. NE, Minerva, OH 44657, on Friday, April 21st at 3:00 p.m. with a visitation one hour prior.
