Ruth Anne Swift

Ruth Anne Swift, age 98, of Paris, Ohio, passed away on October 18, 2023.

She was born on August 29, 1925, in Alliance, Ohio, to Howard L. Myers and Fay (Nile) MyersPARENTS.

Ruth Anne received her Bachelors’ of Science degree from Mount Union College in 1946 with a major in chemistry. She worked as a chemist at both Transue & Williams Company and Federal Chemical Company. Ruth Anne was a member of Alliance Salem Community Church. She was the chairman of the building committee of Alpha Chi Omega sorority house and a member of The Order of the Eastern Star for more than 75 years and served as President of the DeMolay Mothers Club.

Ruth Anne was an avid doll collector and would travel to schools and clubs to display and talk about the origin of her dolls that dated back to 1860.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Allan L. Swift and Dean A. (Leslie A.) Swift;  her daughter-in-law, Beth Swift; grandchildren, David (Tiffany) Swift, Jonathan (Jessica) Swift, Michael (Pari) Swift, Kellie (Benjamin Wright) Swift and Philip (Kate Robbins) Swift; and ten great-grandchildren, Colin, Christopher, Jacob, Abigail, Paige, Max, Nathan, Anna, Alexandra and Margo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Victor D. Swift, whom she married on February 1, 1946, and who died on October 13, 2004;  her son, Barry; daughter-in-law, Judy; brother-in-law, George; and sister-in-law, Dorothy.

A funeral service will be held at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home on Saturday, October 21^st  at 12:00 p.m. with a visitation two hours prior. Her sons Allan and Dean will officiate. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park. Arrangements are entrusted to Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home, 75 South Union Ave Alliance, Ohio 44601.
