Russell E. “Bud” Ramser Jr., age 90, passed away on April 9, 2026.
He was born October 19, 1935 in Alliance, Ohio to Russell E. Ramser and Lillian (Harris) Ramser.
Bud graduated from Alliance High School and worked as a Diesinker at Alliance Drop Forge before retiring from Crown Heating.
A member of the Alliance BPOE #467, Bud served two terms as Exalted Ruler and was a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 60 years, currently Homeworth Lodge 499. He was also a member of the Alliance Shriner’s, the Alliance Flag Unit, The Roma Society and First Christian Church.
He enjoyed traveling, golfing, bowling and bocce.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Karen (Terry) Hill of Las Vegas; granddaughters, Kaile Hill of Idaho, Jori (Christian) Cherven of Kentucky, and Jenna (Nick) Gregorka of Hawaii; five great-grandchildren, Joyce, Everly, Emma, Claire and William; sister, Cindy (Steve) Ramser Foster; and sister-in-law, Carol Ramser.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 43 years, S. Laverne Ramser; son, Kevin Ramser; grandson, Adam Lee Hill; brothers, David L. Ramser, James F. Ramser, and Robert J. Ramser; and his first wife, Elsie.
An Elks service, followed by a funeral service will be held at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home on Thursday, April 16th at 12:00 p.m. with a visitation two hours prior.
Entombment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
The family would like to thank Crossroads Hospice and Palliative Care for their help and care with both Bud and Laverne.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church in Bud’s name, 1141 W Beech St, Alliance, OH 44601.
