Roy C. Guess

Roy C. Guess, age 91, passed away on November 30th, 2024 at his home in Alliance, Ohio, surrounded by his loving family. 

He was born March 25th 1933 in Altoona, Alabama to the late Mayburn Alfred and Grace Elizabeth (Bolton) Guess.

Roy married Ruth Brunner July 17, 1954 in Manhattan, Kansas while serving in the United States Army during the Korean War. Roy and Ruth established their family in Alliance, Ohio having three children.

Roy retired from Babcox and Wilcox in 1982. He was an avid golfer and fisherman. He enjoyed flea marketing and traveling with his wife Ruth. His real passion was gardening and growing garlic. He has shared his garlic with family and friends across the United States.

A daughter Carolyn Hall, brothers Harold and William Carl and a sister Virginia Wyona (Phillips) Guess preceded him in death.

Roy is survived by his wife, Ruth (Brunner) Guess; daughter, Diana Kay (Terry) Dwyer and Marilyn (Riley) League; 8 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; siblings, Ethel McConney (Dave Simmons) of Uniontown, Ohio, Dorothy (Eddie) O'Neal, Joyce (Garin) Johnson, Ray Guess (Elaine), and Mayburn Guess (Patricia) Jr. of Stevenson, Alabama.

A private family service will be held.
