Roscoe West Jr.

Roscoe West Jr., age 82, passed away on April 27, 2026. He was born on January 14, 1944, in Alliance, to Roscoe West Sr. and Desma Hawkins.

Roscoe enjoyed boxing, fishing, and gardening. He was a Cleveland Browns and Cavaliers fan and loved Motown and Blues music. Most of all Roscoe loved spending time with his family and friends.

Those left to cherish his memory are his siblings, Bradley (Denise) West, Chester (Barbara) Kirksey, Joyce (Hawkins) Williams, Michael (Cynthia) Hawkins, Margaret Hawkins, and Reda (Jacques); his loving supportive wife and partner in crime, Allison (St.Clair) West; his daughter, Desma Murphy; grandson, Deontay Pringle; special cousin and friends, Grover Kirksey and Laura Coleman; many nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Melissa St. Clair and Sabrina St. Clair; and his faithful felines, Samantha and her son, Lil Baby.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roscoe West Sr. and Desma (Kirksey) Hawkins; step-father Frank Hawkins; brothers, James West Sr., Frank Hawkins Jr., Sylvester “Fuzzy” Kirksey, Larry Hawkins, Marvin “Bro” Hawkins, Robert “Robbie” Hawkins and Christopher West; sister, Maxine West Johnson; and former wife, Katie (Perdue) West.

A funeral service will be held at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home on Saturday, May 2nd at 2:00 p.m. with a visitation one hour prior.
