Rosalyn Louise (McGirr) Natale Brown, age 83, of Alliance, with her family at her side went to be with her Lord at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, December 18, 2011 at her home. This past year was challenging for Rosalyn and her family.
She was born June 18, 1928, to Olan George and Leonore (Mueller) McGirr.
A 1946 graduate of Alliance High School and 1963 graduate of Gerber Beauty College, Rosalyn was the owner and manager of Color N Curl Beauty Salon for 35 years, retiring in June 1998.
A past member of Lexington United Methodist Church for 50 years, she served as children's Sunday school teacher, chairperson for Pastor relations committee, finance committee, and financial secretary; and was currently a member of New Franklin United Methodist Church.
A past member of Salem Affiliate #20, Alliance Affiliate of the Ohio Cosmetology Association, Daughters of America for more than 50 years, charter member of the Alliance Genealogy Association, she served as librarian for many years, was a member of Friends of the Library, Haines House Committee, the Alliance Community Concert Association and Auxiliary of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War.
Survivors include her husband, James A. Brown, whom she married October 24, 1998; children, Rosemary (Rev. Donald) Lare, Phillip (Ann) Natale, Rosanne Cosma, Robert (Judy) Brown, Pam (Dick) Klusty; 19 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sister, Beverly (Vaughn) Esch, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, John Natale, in April 1997, son, Michael, in January 1996; brother, Frederick Earl McGirr, in November, 2000; and step-daughter, Patricia Thompson, in 2003.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Wright officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. An Auxiliary of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War Service will be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
