Ronald Allen Jones

Ronald “Ronnie” Allen Jones, age 71, of Alliance, departed this life Sunday, December 28, 2025 at Alliance Aultman Hospital after an extended illness.

Ronnie was born on December 5, 1954, in Alliance, Ohio to the late Ronald J Cunningham and Mary Lee (Jones) Thurmond.

Ronald attended Marlington High School and graduated in 1974. Ronald relocated to Columbus, Ohio where he held many jobs, working as a cook and helping manage a bar. One of Ronald's favorite things to do was working the summer festivals downtown Columbus each year. Ronnie returned to Alliance in October of 2020 to be closer to family.

Left to cherish his memories are his children, Corey Jermaine Blue and Nicole (Tom) Sampson; grandchildren, Tozia Ware, Tyren Jones, Arieze Evans, Corey Bell, LaShawnda Carter, Corey Blue Jr., and Mark Perkins II; Ronnie was blessed with 4 great grandchildren; his siblings, Earlene Dailey and Charlietha E. Thurmond; Long time girlfriend Roxanne Davis of Alliance, special friend John Rogers; special cousin Roberta Jarman; host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Ronnie was loved by everyone who knew him. He was a stand-up guy, a straight shooter and as real as they come. He kept to himself, minded his business, and stayed laid-back, listening to his music, watching football, and spending time with his lady, “Foxy Roxy.”

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and brother.

Services will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for viewing.

Ronnie will be laid to rest at Mount Union Cemetery alongside his parents, Mary Lee and Earl C. Thurmond Sr., and his brother, Earl C. Thurmond Jr.
