Ronald A. Herderick

Ronald A. Herderick, age 64, Alliance, passed away and won his battle with cancer at 8:06 a.m., Friday, June 11, 2021 while resting comfortably at his home.

He was born January 16, 1957 in Alliance, Ohio to Ronald H. Herderick and Joan (Riley) Herderick and lived in Alliance for 64 years. He loved his family, his friends, golfing, wood-working, bowling, spending time at the beach, and classic American muscle cars. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was married September 17th, 2008, to his childhood sweetheart from 7th grade, Donna (Higgins) Schlarb. He worked at Brittain’s for several years and then stayed with Terry’s Tire Town and American Tire Distributors for 37 years.

Survivors include his children, Todd (Marybeth) Herderick of Greer, South Carolina, Abigail Schlarb of Alliance, Ohio,  Matthew (Erin) Schlarb of Akron, and Jeremy (Jill) Schlarb of Finley; brother, Larry (Paulette) Herderick of Alliance, sister Debbie (Allen) Smith of Owensboro, Kentucky, sister Stephanie (Pastor Dave) Cannon of Alliance and sister Malissa (Rick) Phillips of Alliance; Grandchildren, Adam, Ian, and Anna Schlarb of Copley, Ohio, Benjamin, Drew, and Faith Schlarb of Findlay, Ohio.

Ron was preceded in death by his father, Ronald H. Herderick who died on September 23, 2019 and his mother and Joan (Riley) Herderick who died May 25, 2006.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, July 10th at Louisville First Assembly of God with Pastor Steve Patient and Pastor Dan Deem officiating. Friends may call from 12-2 p.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions may be made to Calcutta Mercy Ministries (calcuttamercy.org) for Cleft Lip & Palate Surgeries or St. Jude Children’s Hospital (stjude.org).
