Ronald Dunlap

Ronald Dunlap, age 83, went home to be with the Lord on October 18, 2026.

He was born June 23, 1943, in Salineville, Ohio, to Warren and Maxine (Allmon) Dunlap.

Ronald graduated from Salineville High School and then attended THE Ohio State University before graduating from Kent State University. He worked at American Steel as an accountant and later for the Canton City Water Department. Ronald honorably served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and received the Army Commendation Medal. He was a member of Union Avenue United Methodist Church.

Ronald loved God and his family and served as the foundation for his family, friends and loved ones. Ronald also enjoyed being outdoors, playing golf and watching college football.

Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Maxine; wife, Janet Dunlap; children, Brienne (Joseph) Springer, Heather Dunlap and Lisa Reason; grandchildren, Alayna Springer and Kiah and Brice Reason; son-in-law, Casey Reason; and siblings, Richard (Marlene) Dunlap, Gloria (Charles) Bandy, and Kenneth (Pam) Dunlap.

He was preceded in death by his father, Warren Dunlap.

A funeral service will be held at Union Avenue United Methodist Church on Saturday, October 24th at 10:30 a.m. with a visitation one hour prior.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Michelle Treasure, Claire, and the entire oncology team at Louis Stokes VA Medical Center for the wonderful care he received, as well as to Aultman Hospice for their compassionate and heartfelt support.

Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to Union Avenue United Methodist Preschool in Alliance.
