Piroska Farkas, age 91, passed away peacefully on May 4th, 2023 in her home. Piroska was a born in Veszprem, Hungary and, through a harrowing escape, made her way to the United States in 1957.
Piroska’s life was filled with frequent challenges and hardships, yet she always thought of others first. She was totally dedicated to those in need, be it people or animals. She loved and cared for her cats, birds, ducks, parakeet, squirrel and dogs, and possibly many others we never knew of! She had a tenacious spirit, loved to make others laugh, and became friends with just about everyone she ever met. She loved her family deeply, including all of her grandchildren and 6 great-grandkids.
Her faith helped her through the trials and tribulations of life. She will be greatly missed, and we will keep her in our hearts forever, and promise to keep her memory alive. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Laszlo Farkas in 1998.
She is survived by her two daughters, Sue Steffey (William), and H. Dawn Wiant (Keith), along with three grandchildren, Lindsay Wright, Jeffrey Wiant, Stephan Wiant, and their children.
A private funeral was held on May 7th at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made in her name to Berea Animal Rescue, 10015 E. River Rd., Columbia Township, Oh 44028, and a sharing of a special memory is welcomed.
