Peter L. Wervey, age 60 of Alliance, died at 1:56 p.m. January 11, 2007 at Community Care Center after a courageous three year battle with cancer.
He was born June 7, 1946 in Boston, Massachusetts to Robert James and Marjorie Ruth (Hallett) Wervey and lived in Alliance since the age of five.
A graduate of Alliance High School, Mr. Wervey was employed by Stark Metal Sales.
He enjoyed bowling, playing and coaching softball, and listening to music.
He is survived by his wife, Janis L. (Blair) Neel Wervey, whom he married Dec. 22, 1973; son, Brian S. Wervey of Alliance, daughters Valerie R. Neel Adams of Marlton, NJ, and Jerrilyn M. Neel Hogan of Newport News Va.; 11 grandchildren; brother Carl D. Wervey of Sebring; and sisters, Barbara A. Burns of New York City, and Roberta J. Wervey of Akron.
He was preceded in death by his brother Richard, and his parents.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Highland Memorial Park Chapel with Pastor Dean Lewis officiating. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Monday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope Lodge, c/o Christina Williams, 11432 Mayfield Rd., Cleveland, Ohio 44106-2364.
