Paulette D. Kachilla

Paulette Dietz Kachilla, age 69, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, surrounded by her family.

She was born on November 8, 1955, in Washington D.C., to Paul and Evelyn (Duckworth) Dietz.

A graduate of Radford University, Paulette earned her bachelor’s degree in geography and spent 16 years as an Intelligence Analyst for the Central Intelligence Agency. She then became a professor at the University of Mount Union teaching Intelligence Analysis and First Year Seminar.

Paulette was a member of Sozo Church and Faith Family Church. She was also a member of the Association of Former Intelligence Officers.

As an entrepreneur, she owned and operated the Andrew Kachilla Center for Arts and Ohio Traditions. Paulette always supported animal shelters of every kind and even operated a halfway house for abused animals.

Her greatest joy, which brought her the most happiness, was all of the time she was able to dedicate to her family.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Michael Kachilla; children, Andrew Kachilla, Emily Kachilla and Steven Kachilla; grandchildren, Riley, Gracie Brianna and Landon; and siblings, Suzi Dietz, Mike Dietz and Deborah Dietz.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Paul and Mark Dietz.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 19, 2025 at the Dewald Chapel on the campus of the University of Mount Union.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 where Paulette was a huge supporter.
