Paul McGuire

Paul J. McGuire, age 77, of Alliance, died at 4:10 p.m. Sunday December 30, 2012 at his home with his family.
He was born September 18, 1935 in Alliance, Ohio to Joseph and Lillian (Karper) McGuire.
A 1953 graduate of Alliance High School, Paul worked as a Machinist for more than 60 years.
Paul was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and also a member of the Minerva Eagles. He enjoyed dancing, traveling, gardening, and most of all, spending time with his family.
Paul served as a 3rd Class Petty Officer in the Navy Reserves.
Survivors include his wife, Mary (Kocher) McGuire, whom he married April 19, 1957; three children, Paul W. (Margie) McGuire of Alliance, Julie A. McGuire of Atwater, and Teresa M. McGuire, of the home; six grandchildren, Dr. Karen M. McGuire, of Akron, Lisa M. McGuire, of Alliance, Michelle M (J.D.) Gantz, of Oxford, Avery L., Charlotte A. and Roselynn E, of Atwater, and two brothers, Edward McGuire of Alliance, and Thomas McGuire, of Pittsburgh.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one infant son, John A. McGuire, and sisters, Margaret Scuro, and Patricia Wagoner.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, January 4, 2013 with Fr. Matthew Mankowski officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Interment will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 427 E. Broadway, Alliance, Ohio 44601.
