Patricia Ann Vargo

Patricia Ann Vargo, age 87, of Kent, previously from Alliance, passed away on March 4, 2021.

She was born on July 9, 1933 in Alliance to Kenneth Leroy Koons and Lois Hulda (Dutton Koons) Newman.

Patricia (Patty Ann to friends and family) graduated from Alliance High School.  During her working years she was employed by The Boston Store, The Rec, The Polka Dot, Brooks Banquet Center, Kings Department Store, Elks BPOE 467 and finally Electronic Circuits and Design in Sebring where she spent 15 years as a circuit board screener.  After retirement in 1995 she became a vibrant and active volunteer with the Alliance Area Senior Center.  Patty Ann was an excellent seamstress, enjoyed crochet, and was an avid bingo player.  She loved to dance the jitterbug, was a hopeless sweet-tooth, and was proud to be left-handed.   Patty Ann never drove and she could often be seen walking from one end of town to the other for her shopping and errands.

Those left to cherish her memory are her three daughters, Sandy (Kenneth) Baker of Alliance, Patty Jo Ellis of Alliance, and Valerie (Warren) Henry of Kent; four grandchildren, J. Christopher (Tara) Vargo of Alliance, Jessica (Scott) Lundgren of Raleigh, North Carolina, Keara (Chris) Gleason of Kent, and Kayla (Vik Sharad) Henry of Kent;  seven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson and generations of nieces and nephews.  She is also survived by two half-sisters, Karen (James) Carroll of Atwater and Susan Koons of Atwater.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Kenneth “Bud” Koons II; her sister, Dorothy “Tottie” Collage; and her half-brother, James Koons.

Per Patricia’s wishes, a private family service will be held.
