Patricia C. Matthews, age 74, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2025.
She was born on October 5, 1951, in Alliance, to Paul V. and Fernande L. (Queyreud) Foley.
After 40 years of teaching at Mount Union, Pat retired as professor of economics, accounting, and business administration in 2015. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Mount Union in 1973, as well as Master of Arts and Doctor of Business Administration degrees from Kent State University.
She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and the Paso Fino Horse Association and enjoyed teaching children to care for and ride horses.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Fred Matthews; children, Nicole (John) Montesano and Sean J. (Vivi) Matthews; and grandchildren, River, Julian, Henry and Luca.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A private family service will take place at a later date.
