Opal I. Schopfer, age 90, of Homeworth, passed away at 8:48 a.m., Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at her home.
She was born December 11, 1925, in Alliance, Ohio, to Fordyce and Cecelia Walker and was a lifelong area resident.
Opal was an Alliance High School graduate and employed as a corporate secretary for Ohio Drill and Tool for more than 30 years.
She was a member of Middle Sandy Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her son, Joseph (Susan) Schopfer of Homeworth; five grandchildren, Zachary (Deanne), Alec, Karli, Jaron and Andrea; two great-granddaughters, Jaylynn and Brooklyn; and several nieces and nephews.
Opal was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bernard Schopfer, whom she married May 11, 1943 and who died December 26, 2010; and a son, Jeffrey.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 9, 2016, at Middle Sandy Evangelical Presbyterian Church with Pastor Tracy Edwards and Pastor Tom Sawyer co- officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
