Melissa Rene Robertson

Melissa Rene Robertson, 53 passed away after a courageous six year battle with cancer on April 9, 2024.   

Melissa was born on November 16, 1970 in Alliance, Ohio to proud parents Cheryl and James Robertson. She was raised in a loving home attending Marlington Local Schools. As a child, Melissa loved riding horses and competed in numerous equestrian competitions.

In 1990, Melissa enlisted in the United States Army where she served for 2 years. While serving her country she met and married her husband; William M. Casterlow in 1992.

Melissa attended Kent State University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Justice Studies. Her passion for learning and making a difference continued to thrive when she returned to school to earn her Bachelors of Science in Nursing. Her dedication as a healthcare advocate brought her great joy and allowed her to deeply provide excellence in care to all of her patients. In her spare time, Melissa loved spending meaningful moments with her family as well as laying out at the beach.

Melissa was preceded in death by her brother Matthew Robertson and her mother Cheryl Robertson. Melissa leaves to mourn her memory her beloved husband, William of 30 years; her two sons, Zavier and Justice; one daughter, Olivia; her father James Robertson and wife Theresa; her brother, Eric Robertson, his wife Khareen, and sons, Tiernan and Trevor; and a host of family, friends and colleagues.

A memorial service will be held at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home on Monday, May 20^th at 1:00 p.m. with a visitation two hours prior.
