Mary Bodirnea

 Mary (Lee) Bodirnea, age 102, passed away on December 16, 2024. 

 She was born on December 26, 1921, in Alliance, to George and Anna Lee.

Mary graduated from Alliance High School and during WWII she worked at Alliance Manufacturing. After the war she dedicated her life to taking care of her family. She volunteered at Alliance Community Hospital and Rockhill Elementary School and enjoyed sewing, knitting and gardening.

 A member of Trinity Episcopal Church, she served as past president of ECW and was on the alter guild.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Diane Long and Deborah (Randy) Zumbar; grandchildren, Jennifer (Trevor) Theobald, Zachary (Sheila) Zumbar, Megan (Jake) Saathoff and Cory Zumbar; great grandchildren, Caleb and Aaron Theobald, Sydney Saathoff, and Tyler and Kyle Zumbar; and sister, Irene Luca.

 She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George Bodirnea; brother, George Lee; and sister, Victoria Popa. 

 A private funeral service will be held at a later date. 

Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery.
