Martha Jean Sandrus

Martha Jean Sandrus, age 105, passed away on April 29, 2026. She was born on August 17, 1920, in Alliance, to John Fremont and Ora V. (Battershell) Haas.

Martha graduated from Alliance High School in 1938. She attended Alliance Business College and worked for Jay’s and Tolerton Company.

Martha was a member of Lexington United Methodist where she served as treasurer for 9 years. She was also a former member of Lexington Grange.

Martha enjoyed quilting, reading, baking and going for walks.

Those left to cherish her memory are her niece, nephews and their spouses, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph E. Sandrus; and three sisters, Dorothy Domino, Eleanor Briggs and Winifred Waltenbaugh Maddix.

A memorial service will be held at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home on Monday, May 4th at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation one hour prior. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
