Marian Young

Marian Young departed from life on July 17, 2025.

She was born on August 6, 1945 to Elliot and Lillian (Kirksey) Young. Marian was the youngest of 14 children all of which preceded her in death except for her sister, Barbara Jean Walker.

Marian leaves behind her loving husband of 59 years, Winfred E. Young Sr.; her children, Tatia Young, Tylou Young, and Winfred E. (Alyssa) Young Jr.; six grandchildren, Tarion Young, Matias Young, K’Von (Jordan) Young, Tiara (Terrence) Williams, Caden Young, and Cali Young; two great-grandchildren, Kobie Williams and Kendrick Young; and two close friends, Mrs. Tomela Carter and Sandra Proctor.

Marian was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and community caregiver. She worked at GM for 32 years until her retirement. Marian touched many lives and fed many mouths. Her absence will be felt throughout the community and she will be missed by many.

A funeral service will be held at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home on Thursday, July 24th at 12:00 p.m.
