Margaret Papas

Margaret Papas, age 84, of Alliance, died at 8:30 p.m. April 9, 2012, at Alliance Community Hospital.
She was born July 23, 1927, in Hochist, Albania, to Eraklis and Olimbia (Naum) Papas.
A 1947 graduate of Alliance High School, Margaret also attended Alliance Business College.
Margaret attended Vine Street United Methodist Church, having been a Sunday school teacher for more than 45 years and a member of various church groups. She was also a member of the Alliance Association of Office Professionals, Alliance Women's Club and secretary of the Carnation Festival Board for 17 years. She worked as a secretary in the engineering department at Babcock and Wilcox Tubular Division for 41 years.
Survivors include many cousins in Albania, Greece, Akron, Oh. and Chicago, Ill.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 12, 2012, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. David Bloor officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery.
