Lois J. Briggs

Lois J. Briggs, age 97, passed away on June 13, 2026. She was born on July 24, 1928, in Smith Township, to Ellis and Rhea (Buehler) Emmons.

Lois graduated from Mount Union College where she was a member of the Tri Delta Sorority. She then worked as an English teacher at West Branch Junior High.

Lois was a member of First Immanuel United Church of Christ and was on the fellowship committee. She enjoyed playing bridge, reading and working in her yard. Lois always did her daily devotions. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family and was always cooking and baking for them.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Amy Briggs and Becky Lamancusa; grandchildren, Alec (Amy) Lamacusa and Abigail (Arek) Hively; and great-grandchildren, Adaline and Aiden.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald Briggs; and a sister, Maxine Mackall.

A private family service will be held at a later date. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
