Linda Sue (Susie) Keffer was born in Canton, Ohio, on June 17, 1949. She was the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Lawrence Oney of Alliance, Ohio.
Linda passed away on Monday, March 16, 2026, at her home in Nashville, Georgia.
She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Reverend Gary S. Keffer of Nashville, Georgia; her daughter, Amy (Mike) Shellem of Hollywood, Maryland, and their three grown children, Carlie, Cody, and Chloe; and her son, Paul (Jessica) Keffer of Nashville, Georgia, and their four grown children, Emily, Ethan, Eli, and Ellie. Linda is also survived by her brother, Larry Oney of Alliance, Ohio, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Being the daughter of a preacher, Linda grew up knowing and serving the Lord, spending her life in full-time ministry. Her very heartbeat was for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. At just 8 years old, she met Gary Keffer at the church her father pastored in Alliance, Ohio. Gary was 9 years old, and they grew up together in church.
After attending Midwestern Baptist College in Pontiac, Michigan, for a year, Linda and Gary were married on June 21, 1968, and began their lifelong journey of serving the Lord together. Their love story was an inspiration and blessing to many.
They had two children, Amy and Paul. After pastoring two churches, the Lord called Gary and Linda, along with their children, into full-time evangelistic ministry in 1984. Gary preached, and the family sang Southern Gospel music. That ministry lasted 42 and a half years, during which they traveled to all 50 states and 14 countries, sharing the message of Jesus Christ. They also recorded many family albums.
Linda had a beautiful singing voice and played the piano. She was known for her fun, loving, and bubbly personality, and for her ability to make everyone feel at home.
She especially loved her seven grandchildren, Emily, Ethan, Carlie, Cody, Eli, Chloe, and Ellie, who lovingly called her “Ninny.” She was an incredible homemaker and was known for her delicious cooking. She also authored a cookbook that is treasured by family and friends.
Linda was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Nashville, Georgia.
